What is style2spare?
A great night out that is all about fashion and fun. style2spare is an opportunity to trade clothing items that are too good to give away but are no longer working for you.
What is the cost to participate?
In order to attend, you must purchase a ticket and make a fashion contribution. Tickets are $35.00 and everyone is required to contribute at least 5 items. Participation includes appetizers, beverages, trading and shopping. A limited number of tickets are available so act quickly! If you would like to attend but DO NOT want to contribute items, you can purchase a $50 ticket at the door.
How does style2spare work?
Once you have decided to participate, you will call to RSVP and schedule your drop off. Each participant MUST contribute at least 5 items. There is no limit to the number of contributions beyond the 5 articles required, but you must plan on parting with at least 5 things in order to participate. At the drop off site, you will purchase your ticket to the event and leave your articles with your address. Once your articles are reviewed, you will be sent your event ticket with the number of credits you will have to use on April 22nd. The night of the event, all items will be marked with a credit and cash value. Your credit voucher will be used to "purchase" fun fashions you are sure to find that evening. If you find more things than you have credits for, than you can pay cash for any items beyond the credits you earned through your contributions. Unused credits have no cash value ever and have no redemption value after April 22, 2010. Credits stated on ticket MUST be used by ticket holder and cannot be granted to another participant.
What types of fashion contributions will be accepted?
style2spare items will include junior and women's sizes. Slightly used clothing, shoes and accessories including jewelry, belts, hats, scarves, wraps, purses, sunglasses and outerwear will be accepted. All items must be in desirable condition. No stains, tears or over worn clothing will be included. Unworn intimate apparel and hosiery will be accepted, but MUST have original tags in tact.
What will happen to the contributions that are deemed unsuitable for style2spare?
If any of your items are unsuitable for the event, they will be donated to charity. Any garments that are not traded the evening of the event will be donated to one of several local women's shelters in the Detroit Metropolitan Area. Please know that your donations are much appreciated by the organizations that will greatly benefit from your generosity.
